Dream ( for anyone who likes crazy dream journal entries):
---
The zombies in this dream aren't entirely typical. They hold onto a lot more of themselves than your average zombie, even if they do crave human flesh. Looks-wise they're a lot less rotting and a lot more burnt looking. As in the burnt, ashy end of a cigarette. Also, they're crumbly, not slimy.
The world at large had no idea what was going on, and neither did we. All we knew was that we'd been picked for some sort of government thing and that saying no wasn't an option. In my pick-up group there was just me, a boy and a military man. We get picked up in a futuristic looking military plane and our first switch point means being handed a parachute and jumping. It's scary but fun at the same time.
A few hours later - we're in a marshy field area - and we get picked up by plane number two. This time things go less planned. It seems the city with the switch point is just starting to feel/notice the zombie attack. So we have to make an unscheduled jump rather than land in the airport. We still have out parachutes from the last jump, but they aren't packed. The only choice is to toss the chute out the plane then jump after it. The boy in my group doesn't have a problem, my chute snaps and drifts down without me. I only just grab the edge of the plane so am dangling out. Military guy jumps down by me and my only option is to grab onto him like a crazy monkey who doesn't want to die as we fall out of the plane.
The landing is difficult and when we hit ground we see our first zombie monster. Thankfully we're able to fight it off. It's a freaky giant dog beast with too many teeth and some anger problems. This city has been hit really hard, we have to find a safe place to hide out while waiting on our last pickup. We end up at a school, where an upper-level gym area has been barricaded by a group lead by the local coach. We end up slipping in with the survivors and watching out the window at the destruction happening below. It isn't just the zombies goin crazy - though some of them are - it's the changed wandering in despair, not knowing what's happening with themselves until they get over taken by hunger for human flesh. The scene is a pretty typical horror city. It's dark and so many things are burning that it looks like it's snowing.
While we wait at the window a pair of military planes show up, and we jump out the window and into the planes. ( these are more like comic book helicopter-plane hybrid things than normal airplanes )Instead of the usual flight, we end up dropped off at a train, and take the railways the rest of the way. By this point the lighting in the dream reminds me of an end-of-the-world movie. It's dark and all the colors of muted. The people stationed on the train are worn and tired. The food is watered down and you can tell they've been there too long.
When we reach the final compound it's like night and day. It's situated at the top of a hill, with a giant bulldozer defending one side and a long line of walls and guys with guns on the other. At the top is a building that looks like the white house, and the president is indeed in charge. The colors in this area are bright and happy. Even though everyone is inside preparing to fight and survive, the zombie invasion is just so far away. The other world leaders all have their own version of the massive underground complex, gathering and training people to battle the zombie apocalypse.
The hole dream starts to get awkwardly jumpy after that and I can't keep track of it anymore.
